The next playground meeting will take place on Thursday, November 15, from 12:00 to 13:30, at the faculty of Architecture (building 8, Julianalaan 134, Thinkroom BG.Zuid.380, left of the Ketelhuis restaurant).
The theme of the playground meeting will be ‘Design for Democracy‘. The program will contain short pitches, kickstarting discussion and sharing of insights:
- Tino Mager & Klara Pigmans: Defining Port-City cultures through value deliberations.
- Maria Luce Lupetti: Democratic human-robot partnerships in the smart city.
- Haye Hazenberg: Digital Democracy Platforms in Election Times.
We will touch upon questions like: what values construct democracy? What is the role of the designer and designs or spatial planning in relation to democracy and democracy-building? How can democratic values be operationalised and assessed? Let us know if you wish to be part of the line-up or audience!
If you register for the meeting ([email protected]), we can order you lunch, but feel free to drop in at the last moment as well, also without registering. To add this event to your digital calendar, you can use this ical download.
Playground meetings are our informal lunch meetings for discussing design for values topics and sharing ideas and insights. They are planned monthly on the 3rd Thursday and rotate between the four DDfV faculties. You are invited to send in insights, questions and remarks to share during these meetings, or to volunteer or nominate someone for a pitch presentation.
